We stopped off at the town of Saverne for an afternoon coffee.

We reached Strasbourg at around 5pm and headed for our hotel for the night. We were located opposite the main train station. Because the hotel didn't have any parking and were not ...

... door to houses that are 400+ years old.

We found our first castle ruins just up the road. It was hard to imagine what went on there as very little remained so we were determined to find a more complete castle before our road trip was over.

I had my heart set on a tour of the famous Alpirsbacher Brewery in the next town but were told the guide only spoke German during the tour so had to settle for a walk around ...
