... out of work to walk from his home town, near Cologne, to Rome. He tries to cover 35kms a day and he sleeps out at night - using a bivouac - as much as possible. Not surprisingly, he spoke perfect English, which made conversation on a range of topics - including (surprise, surprise) the recent World Cup - very easy indeed.

Arrived here at lunch time, unexpected peace and quite in run down motorhome only campsite. Was going to have given the place a miss and gone for the more traditional all singing and dancing over priced Italian campsite. Glad we didn't, in small field next to lake only two other vans. From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

... the life of Guido's cousin Orfeo who will be sadly missed.

Boys spent the afternoon tree surfing while Gran and I caught up on some washing, it always feels great when you have a case full of clean clothes when you are traveling.
Spritz in the local piazza with enough nibbles - that always accompany pre-dinner drinks- to feed a small family!! casual walk through town before selecting the nights dinner venue. So not looking forward to cooking when I get home!!
