Peaceful Piedmont

... not counting the three times we went through several while getting lost in Genoa!)

Visiting the Piedmont region was a first for us. Fall was definitely in the air, and very few grapes were still hanging on the ubiquitous vines. The vines were beautiful colors of green, yellow, orange and red, depending on their location and the type of grape produced.

For our five nights in Piedmont, we stayed at a family owned B&B, Mongalletto, ...

... of 42kms and we stopped when we did only because it would have been another 10kms to reach the next big town. I think he enjoyed my company as much as I did his, as he could have chosen to bed down in a field if he'd wanted to get rid of me. I guess it also helped him that our lodgings for the night was in an Ostello run by the local municipality on a donation basis. Arrived here at lunch time, unexpected peace and quite in run down motorhome only campsite. Was going to have given the place a miss and gone for the more traditional all singing and dancing over priced Italian campsite. Glad we didn't, in small field next to lake only two other vans. From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.
