The lift at platform 9 was not working so we had to take the bags to the top of the stairs, then go back down for the bike. The bike carriage was already filling up but we managed to find a space. I helped a lady with a seat on wheels as she had become tangled by all the bike wheels. The change of platforms at Oldenburg went ...

Some we recognized, many caused us to ask where in hell they found this stuff. There were two songs that stood out, however. One we heard only once on the trip and the other we heard over and over again. The "one hitter" was all about timing. While trying to feed the voracious toll meter on our way to Chamonix, we were rear-ended ...

... dollar @ only a 10% premium to the euro, you had to work to spend more than $10 USD on a bottle of wine. The last dinner in France was a blowout at a canal side restaurant four blocks from our hotel and at the periphery of the ancient village. (Since we had skipped lunch altogether, it was a little easier to rationalize this. Well, that and the whole "last meal in France, they know their way around the kitchen" thing.) Suffice it to say that we ate exceptionally well this final night in ...
