Woke up at 6,30am not sure where we are as we are just moving very slowly could be we are waiting to go through another lock or for a berthing slot in Breisach as the itinerary said we'd arrive in the early hours. Just put the bow cam on and it is a lock, it can't be much further though as we left Strasbourg at 10pm last night. Finally arrived in Breisach 4 hours late, we feel for the Captain whose been on duty 11hours now navigating us safely through a ...

We spend the next couple of hours looking at shops and finally we have a breakthrough . Russ buys Liz a new watch. Very nice just like last years table cloth!!!!!!!!! It's time ...

The day started with a power brunch in one of Schaffhausen's bakeries, whose calorie packed praliné rolls helped us beef up our pace, and be able to swiftly reach Stein am Rhein, the last Swiss city we would visit during this trip. In addition to having a well preserved medieval air, it's also the last city before the Konstanz lake, along which we rode afterwards, finding a huge fruit farm on the way (see picture). The eurovelo path there makes a loop, making it look like ...

... mit krauten und fruhekartofeln, a Swiss dish of renown. I ate more food today that I ought. But other than not eating fondue, I had done the Swiss proud with chocolate, apfelstrudel, and their famed fish dish (perch) on my menu today. I also clocked up over 16000 steps on my pedometer so I reckon it wasn't too bad. Tomorrow I join the cruise after another day of sightseeing in Zurich, courtesy of the cruise people. It will be nice not having to navigate public transport by myself for a ...
