    ... the
olds cannot keep them maintained anymore. Sad really. During the Genoese
occupation here, it was the wealthiest area of Corsica.

Tomorrow evening, we take the boat to Toulon and when we
wake, we will be in mainland Europe, ready for the next leg.

Au revoir to you all, lovely family and friends. Mor mor and

Saturday We've had our last day in Corsica, catching the bus back from Calvi to Bastia, for one night more at the Pietracap hotel, before heading to London. The bus trip was quite scenic, and a little different to the train trip, and an hour quicker. We knew it would be a long day but we set out regardless to drive the west coast to Ajaccio. There is really no option to only go half way because there are no other roads, but if you can make it to the capital then you can take the highway home. As we headed south the ...

We had a short drive today—55 miles and 1 hours from L'Ile Rousse to Bastia. Our Garmin took us through the desert. It was interesting. We also drove through the wine region that produces the Patrimonio wine. We had to stop and tast (and buy one bottle) at a family run vineyard.

We drove to the EuropCar station so we knew where it was and how to get there to return our car. ...
