What a day we had today!

Disembarked from the ferry this morning in Holland and took our coach to the beautiful town of Nijmegen. It is a town that was severely damaged by fighting during World War II; but has been restored. Our stop here was a bit of a walk-about and a stop to get lunch and provisions for the rest of the day.

We left Nijmegen(pronounced Nigh-Megan) and travelled to Groesbeek where our ...

After almost missing my train from Herzogenrath to Gladbeck, I was relieved to experience a Regional train which is generally far more crowded with local commuters. It was a joy to be reunited with my cousin Brunhild (from my Mother's side) in the nigh darkness.

Norbert and Brunhild welcomed me to their home and we made plans for the following ...

We tried to find some cheap bikes to buy at the camping site today but they were all too expensive and there were no small bikes for Sascha. We left the camp site, said good bye to our cousins and drove to an archaeological park in Xanten. It was a Roman settlement many years ago and I got to dress up like a Gladiator in the museum. We drove on and stopped at lake in the evening as it was very hot today. Played campervans got ...
