On Thursday morning we were on the road northwards shortly after 8.30am - earlier than planned. Due to the steep driveway out of the Camping Pelinos 77, we had taken Remy up on his offer of a tow out but he had overlooked that he had a hospital appointment later in the day, and was knocking on the door at 7.30am to apologise, so it would need to be sooner rather than later. We had time enough for a cuppa and bowl of cereal ...

... it on a viaduct. We get good views of the vine terraces lining the banks. We arrive in Viseu and park up to have a look round and something to eat before checking in. We have a frustrating encounter with a parking ticket machine which is not working but eventually find another one. Its sunny now and hot but nothing like yesterday - maybe 28 degrees. ... where graduates get their degrees....it has a little more class than the Melbourne conference centre!!

There were some very steep steps again - hard to imagine Sandy picking that for her birthday outing!! Luckily we found a funicular for the downwards trip. The Uni cafe was an experience, a gazzilion people in v small area...but cheap food. Afterwards I had an eclair and Sandy had a Portuguese tart.

We left our camp-site & came to a place called Viseu. I got to hang out more with my ***** Tia. We shared breakfast together (ham & cheese croissant) im a very European dog now! & then cuddled up on the sofa. We even shared an ice cream, im a very romantic Beagle me.... what a great day ...
