As I said before I am terrible at this blog thing. We have been in Italy for two weeks now and have enjoyed it very much! Saying goodbye to Ireland and the people we met was bittersweet. While in Ireland we met a wonderful Christian couple that took us around Donegal and took us to church, it was so good ...

There are special eggs for pasta making - the chickens have been fed corn and grains high in carotene so that they are extra bright yellow. The kneading process required quite a bit ...

... I was provided with a large cup of warm frothy milk and a small jug with an espresso - when i mixed them I think I got a cappuccino - which is not what I was after. I was keen to explore the Palazzo dell'Archiginnasio - the oldest university in the Western Hemisphere. The corridor walls, ceilings, and staircases are adorned with frescos, inscriptions and memorial monuments for professors of the university. There are also thousands of plaques with the names of students who ...

... their whistles and megaphones, it made it very easy to negotiate the streets and tourist sights, given there were no cars and very few people! Bologna University was founded in 1088 and is the oldest uni in the world. While we were visiting, we assume graduation ceremonies were taking place because lots of students were walking around with garlands of leaves on their heads, and groups of family and friends were doing lots of cheering and were madly popping ...
