    ... a drink that tastes like tequila and sweets like donut holes. The place reminded me of a small a bavarian village .

    The next day we were back in Split and was time to say our goodbyes. We were transported to a hotel near the airport, in a lovely and quiet neighborhood by the sea. We spent some time strolling and exploring but decided to turn in early because we had an early flight back to LAX the following morning.

    ... in an amazing city that I can't wait to explore? Go to the store to get groceries. After traveling for 17 days without having a "home base" and not having any of my own food, I was ready to go to the store to get stuff for the apartment and settle in.    Trying to shop at the store, however, is easier said than done.     I am not coordinated! I suck at multitasking...and I am hugely accident prone :D! So it's no wonder that we're bicycling along with our little bike caravan and am dodging people and cars and ran smack into a street sign! I kinda bent the sign and almost knock myself off the bike on my ass :p!!! P.s. Whoever decided cobblestones and bikes mixed sucks! I'm witting this the next day and my fanny is still sore!     ... which streets led us to home, but asked lots of questions and did find our hotel without too many false turns.

    Our evening had been planned in Denver-attending opening night at the State Opera House. The theater was full of red velvet, chandeliers, gold leaf, and ceiling paintings. We saw and heard La Traviatta, thoroughly enjoying the music and being part of the opera experience.

    ... to see the view of the city before going for lunch. The top of the hill had a church call "St. Nicholas Church". There was an attached restaurant with a terrace over looking the city. The hill also had small walking trails for people to get closer in touch with nature within the city.
