When we lived in Maine, they had a saying....."Ya can't get there from here". Today....I've found the Czech equivalent.
We woke this morning to find a street market right in front of our hotel, on the riverfront....we of course went! It was a farmer's market for the most part, but about 40 percent of it was a flea market, full of all sorts …
We arose in Prague today and had breakfast....after this, Laurie, David, and Sheree headed for the Jewish Museums and I headed to The National Technical Museum! What this actually is....it's a museum of cars, trains, planes, and motorcycles. To those who know me I'm sure this makes a bit more sense now.
I took the tram, got off at the …
Today's comments are kind of a rolling commentary on our train trip from Vienna, a very western city, to Prague. I'm writing as we go...so the events and my thoughts are seriatim.
We arose this morning and headed to the train station.....we took the underground from near our hotel and arrived in plenty of time. A good thing as it seems …
Today we enjoyed a relaxed day walking around Prague. We began in Old Town Square and then took the trolley up to Prague Castle. What an amazing little city this is. The castle is the largest in the world and the country is still ruled from here. After touring the cathedral and castle grounds, we found a little toy museum where Brayden took so many …
Today we travelled to Prague after spending the morning in the park by the Eiffel Tower. We arrived in the afternoon and walked to the Jewish Quarter across the Charles Bridge. We had a bite to eat and returned to our hotel for some much needed rest.

We had an apartment, two bedrooms, with a living room, walk in closet, full kitchen, balcony, entry foyer, and a bath with separate toilet room. The place was huge....and would have been a nice apartment to LIVE in, much less stay a few days.
The tram stops right in front of the hotel and you can buy full day tram/bus/subway tickets (one ticket covers all 3) from the front desk. Passable breakfast, and right on the river. We awoke Saturday morning to a farmers market/flea market along the river right outside our door.....and it was a great market! On Sunday, we woke to another market, of authors who were selling the books they had written.
Decent restaurants within a block or so, with bars and such in the same block. Had a very good Chinese meal about a block and a half away. Tesco supermarket is about a block from the hotel as well, if you prefer to cook in the apartment.
We liked it....it was a good choice.
