... visited Mt. Vesuvius. There was a wine tasting from the grapes of the ashy soil. We took a tour through the vineyard and hiked partway up the mountain. Vesuvius loomed in the background and is reported to possibly erupt in the next 10 years. Pompeii may be covered once again.
I have never consumed so much food. The weekend consisted of multiple 4 course meals and snacks galore. All I know is the freshman 15 may be the sophomore 15.....totally worth it. ...

... At the end of the beach a posh restaurant was being filled with people appearing in posh yachts being ferried back and forwards by the restaurants own boat !!

We ate mozerello and tomato salad for lunch (such wow flavours) and followed that by a large dish of locally made ice cream (5 flavours). Well that blew the 295 calories I lost a couple of hours ago !!

Maiori, Amalfi Coast, Italy Today we used our three day bus pass to go to Positano and explore some of the towns along the way. The coast road is only wide enough for two buses in some places and corners only have room for one bus to negotiate. The road has a stone wall all the way on the cliff side. We're breakfast early in the morning, and we hit the road to Pompei. The road south takes us through a market garden countryside, with barren hills above, baking in the Mediterranean heat. Economically, the farther south we travel, the less affluent the areas become.
