Day 13 - The day we truly almost died.

... of our boat trip, I would still highly recommend renting a boat to see the coastline. It was a lot of fun to make our own decisions on where to stop for lunch, and when to swim, etc. Two very important lessons are to check the boat very carefully to ensure everything is in working order (i.e. the anchor), and to make sure you have a plan if the water gets too choppy. I think we should have turned around and left the boat at Capri and taken the Ferry back to Sorrento.

Today Sam was working, so I ventured out on my own to visit Positano Village again. First i had to speak to reception to find out the best way to travel there - bus or taxi. Between their very little spoken English and my non-existent Italian, I was handed a bus timetable that was written in English. ... scenic journey along the coast, turned into a bad amusement park ride. The road was the last thing between the main land and the cliff towards the sea. It was one of the most winding roads we have ever been on, and the bus took over both lanes of traffic every time it turned a sharp corner. ... and met lots of interesting people. The second day we again walked the cutest cobblestone streets throughout Rome to the Colosseum. We got an audio tour and walked amongst the crowd to see the infamous ruin! It's tough to be completely floored to see such famous sites because we've seen so many pictures and movies about it.
