... we dined with Lesley and Micaela who are a mum and daughter travelling with us on the tour from Hallett Cove and are both very lovely people. We are also very happy with our hotel which looks across to Mount Vesuvius and we enjoyed a couple of hours in the bar tonight outside taking in the view, plus a lightning show plus fireworks across the bay. It was really good to relax and enjoy the company of some of our fellow tour members over a beer and ...

... the water and on the shore. It is very difficult to walk in the water as the stones hurt your feet. The beaches are too hot to walk on. There are small stretches of beach and most of them are owned by the cafes and restaurants and you have to pay to use the deck chairs and umbrellas. The water was cold even though it was 32 degrees today. There is also a film on the water from the boats and ferries. ...

Heard alarm clock of roommate go but then must have slept again.
Walked into Sorrento - hostel is at Sant'Angello which is about 30 minute walk to centre of Sorrento or 2 minutes on the train.
Had look around the town. Amazing views over Naples bay and of hotels on cliffs above the bay. Surprised to hear that ferries to Capri not operating as ...
