... isn’t any "old" growth. The path is clear and we come out upon a marvelous view to the south. It’s hazy but still beautiful. Getting out in nature is important to me. It renews me after so many hill towns, chateaux, and historical markers. After a couple of hours we head home refreshed, drop into the patisserie for dessert for dinner and buy a top up voucher for my phone. The patisserie lady helps us get the phone topped ...

... we move on to Menerbes.

This little town is where the author of "A Year in Provence" lived while writing the book. It was definitely my favorite. While medieval it is alive with people, shops, contactors and restaurants. We visited the boulangerie for bread and pastries, a local shop for some cherry jam and had lunch at an outdoor café in the sun. I’m enjoying this slower pace!

Anoop had worked up quite a sweat by the time he came to the pool because a car towing a caravan had decided to choose a spot on the second terrace of the campsite and had been unable to make it up the steep, gravelly road. They were jack-knifed on a steep corner and were at risk of colliding with the camper setup in the corner. About ...

... we were having juice and absorbing the atmosphere.

It was time to say goodbye to Aix-en-Provence and move onto the next place : Cannes. On the way, we stopped in Saint Paul de Vence as this was a must see. It is a medieval town, on top of the hill, not far from the French Riviera, with cobblestone streets and old passages. It had lots of artistic shops and galleries and little restaurants. It was beautiful weather, 30°C.
