... the country for four months loomed in the background.

Thanks to the empty window seat next to me, I settled into my Swiss Air flight thinking I was going to get some sweet shut eye. Unfortunately, I was wide awake... BUT it just meant that I got super excited about all of the airplane food I got to eat (never underestimate a packaged brownie from Switzerland), and I watched Boyhood (which I hear won a Golden Globe) - ...

... be signing up for a temporary European cell phone. Fingers crossed that staying awake until 8pm tonight will take care of most of my jet lag...only 3 more hours until bedtime!

I'm looking forward to Thursday, and beginning the first of many long weekends, this one with my best friend. Meanwhile, I'll try to break out the black clothes and assimilate myself a little more into Swiss culture!

We got to Manchester Airport in good time and checked through all okay until security Honestly they are worse the Australia. Our bag had to be scanned again, even after they had checked it - twice! It ...

Yesterday, Tante Danielle and I visited the Museum of Natural History in Geneva where they were having an exhibit on birds. This place was incredible! It had all kinds of animals from all over the world and more kinds of birds than I could ever imagine. None of the animals were living, all stuffed, which was really neat because I've never seen anything like that but also because it allows you to get a really good look at ...

... I wish I could splurge like this every trip. They allowed early check-in and gave us an upgraded room. We can see the lake and the room itself it just very nice. I can get used to this. Jess already had two of their complimentary espressos.

So we walked around Geneva and asked the concierge for some lunch recommendations. After shooting down the overpriced selections, we opted for the less overpriced one. As he put ...
