I feel like this trip got started on the right foot while I was driving up Bank St after dropping of Fannie at the dog boarder and heading downtown to pick up Caroline when I found myself stopped at a red light right in front of Meat In The Middle. I'd heard a lot of good tihngs about this sandwich shop so I pulled over and popped in for one of their smoked meat sandwiches and some coleslaw. Was not disappointed.
... the blue. Anyway we put our bikes together and the hotel staff calmed down and we are in the process of getting our rooms.

The idea is to get into Spain today or tomorrow (depending how many beers I have) and get to explore the Basque Country. It's already apparent, the signs are in Spanish here as well and paella is on the menu in most restaurants - mmmmm!

... and want a quiet holiday on the side of a peaceful lake with sandy beaches, forests and flat tarmac cycle pistes for £10 per night here it is. A lake I hear you say? Well I didn't bring a canoe all this way not to use it, so Captain Birdseye and the good ship Venus set sail on our maiden voyage today. She didn't tip me in (nah nah ne nah nah Jilly) but I think I might fit the skeg next time to inprove the tracking.. Who said I wasn't nautical??
