The locals eat dinner after 7.30 but we managed to find a place at 7 & had a good dinner before retiring at 9pm.

I arrived in Mantova a little after 2:00pm and it was a lot hotter then Rovereto. It didn't help that I had on all my warm, black cycling gear still from that morning. The walk to my hotel took about 20 minutes, which felt longer in the heat, and when I arrived there weren't any signs so it took me a little while ...
... is used for concerts in good weather. We did not tour the interior or ramparts as there is on-going construction. From the arena, we strolled Via Mazzini, the high end shopping street of Verona. Gucci, Prada, etc can be found here. Great looking Italian fashions with prices to match. Via Mazzini took us down to Piazza Erbe where there was an open market set up selling fruits and vegetables, souvenirs and clothing accessories (hats, scarves, gloves). ...
... four hours spent wandering around went quickly with the many stops we made. We found ourselves hungry and stopped near our hotel for dinner at a small restaurant for an okay dinner of spaghetti con vongole (spaghetti with clams) and risotto with shrimp. Not worth recommending but the waiters were friendly and humorous.
Back to our hotel about seven after a fun day of Vino in Verona.
