... with seven years of stock then looked more like a branch of Ikea!

And so on to another tasting of wine followed by Armagnac in a splendidly modern tasting room (with a square loo - I know, a little odd and I felt too embarrassed to take a photo - this was not in the tasting room it was like a normal loo in it's own room).

On to our next destination arrived at through an elegant gateway opposite a beautiful church nestled amongst the vines. This was the Chateau Bordeneuve - here was a huge but friendly German shepherd and its owner Thomas Guasch who was to be our guide and the producer under the watchful eye of his father.

Thomas showed us his vines - he has 20Ha and uses them to produce Bas-Armagnac from Ugni Blanc and Baco ...

... shop that was unattended but open (as in, not locked up) so we helped ourselves to cold beer, coke and two bottles of wine for dinner...leaving a list of what we took and the money required to pay for it..felt like thieves but in fact were not because we did pay for it.. Just as a reminder... This was the gite communal that was being run by the two elderly French men as volunteers for the week... We stayed there with Martin the German man from near Munich... We helped the elderly men with the cooking and reparation.. They were both really funny old characters..much teasing and laughter with the elderly men... I cooked the potatoes that they were going ...

We walked the 11 km to Nogaro ..where we met terry who had gone with the bag man...the walk was fine...
