Afetr been working for a whole year, sacrificing family time and my own, the time has come to make a stop at my vacations. Every year, I look for something to make my family remember when we are on vacations.
This year, my mother-in-law wanted to ...
... country, not S.C.
So now at least I had been given a soft seat and a new poster to stare at. This one was of L'Orielle Humaine, the human ear. I believe I can now draw an anatomically-detailed perspective of the human ear that would be worthy of entrance into Grey's Anatomy book, down to the microscopic level, which was also included. I was left to stare at that poster for quite some time. Aprroximately :34:06 ...
... getting some souvenirs, and getting ready to catch the train back to the airport. On the walk back to the train station, I enjoyed a wonderfully authentic Toblerone that I picked up at the hostel vending machine. I’m developing a theory that you can tell a lot about a country from what they stock in their vending machines: Toblerones in Switzerland, bon bons and croissants in France (not to mention the coffee machines), and…junk food in ...
Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland cmvanacker... Point, only to discover that there was no cheap accomodation left and the only places available was 4 and 5 star hotels. So long chat on the phone to Lucy's mum and she said she would pay for us to stay in a nice hotel and send her the bill. What a treat! Lausanne was a really charming city with an excellent atmosphere and wonderfully clean air. So despite staying there for a short peroid of time, I cant wait to go back!
After I left the airport, I had some choices. It was about 5:30 am and I had a rental car and a hotel room. I thought about going back to the hotel and getting some more sleep, but I was already up and about and decided to just keep going. Apart from a few minutes in Besancon with Ed, I had not driven in Europe before and I wasn't really totally sure where I was going, so I was a little nervous. But it wasn't too hard to find the way, because all I had to do was find the highway and then ...
Lausanne, Vaud, Switzerland apincumbe... up against the wall and a couple of places have this whole sterilizing seat system. Its quite fancy. Cost of living in Switzerland is expensive! The currency here is the Swiss Franc. $1 is equivalent to about 1.3 swiss franc. Just a couple of comparisons, the average meal at McDonalds is around 19 franc, Starbucks coffee is around 8 cup. But I don't want to loom ...
Lausanne, Switzerland mcklyncoleHello campers! We are back with an entry. Wheeeeeee! It has been a while and many, many foot steps since last we found internets. Most places we found were coin operated and not cheap. Well we are at a real internet cafe in Lausanne now and that is what counts, now. G and I have entered a new phase of our travels and will ...
