Today I crossed another wish off my bucket list. Ever since I was a little girl I remember my mum talking about wanting to go to Switzerland. Sadly my mum never made it, but I swore that I would do it for her. There were a few tears as we went over the border and I saw the alps for the first time. Switzerland is all I had heard about and imagined. Yes, it is very expensive, yes the lakes ...

... is beautiful with a lovely big room, wide balcony overlooking the pool and out to sea, and a bath. We walked down into the village of Pietranera, just out of Bastia, and unfortunately we couldn't find any sandy beaches, only a few little pebbly ones. We weren't that impressed, but it improved when we ...

Bye-bye Fribourg, and hello Lausanne…if only for a day. We arrived midday and made the most of our time there. Many years ago, I had visited the Olympic Museum in Lausanne and thought all the Goodners would enjoy the visit. The museum was modern, current in its content (with spaces already made for the next several Olympics in most of the exhibits), interactive, ...

... only French to French, English and German.

Lausanne is beautiful! It is so nice to get away from the bustling big cities to a much quieter and peaceful place. Fewer people smoke here. On Easter Sunday we went to the English speaking church in Lausanne, or as the locals call it, "the English church". We felt very welcome and it made us both miss St Margaret's but at the same time we felt very privileged to be a part of a church half way around the world.

... like I’d accomplished something and was pretty happy with myself! We all jumped on the tram and headed back into the city where I left them on the tram and headed 'home’ to the hotel! Eddie was happy to see me and had missed me all day haha!! We then headed out for more sightseeing and took the tram down to the edge of Lake Genève.

Our tram ride was very interesting – the tram down the hill to the lake is automatic, no driver! And it ...
