    ... had left Tuesday morning, they got seen Tuesday afternoon (told they had hernias), and put on the schedule to get operated on Thursday, and we headed back home Friday morning. I had to leave them on their own Wednesday and help translate, but I told them wherever they wanted me to be Thursday I would be there. I could tell all 4 were nervous.

    Feb 18 Santo Domingo Last night we arrived at Bettye's Hostel. It was the best hostel for cultural decor. We took a taxi from the Caribe stop. We waited a while because we wanted a van.
