... outlying islands and others vary from an hour to a couple of hours. We didn't want to spend a whole day on the water so we went for a short cruise that would show us the main things. The main things being amazing caves, grottos and islands. We went fully into one grotto, I thought I was over my cave "thing", apparently it doesn't apply to grottos. Having just seen how huge chunks of the cliff face can fall ...

... with the switch from Italian to French. I really find Italian easy to understand and read - French? No bloody idea. We spent our last hours in Sardinia driving North West to a small town called Santa Teresa where the ferry left from. I am writing this at the end of our day. We have just driven about 7k's down the road to a place called Portisco. We have parked the car and have walked ...

Sardinia is divine...it reminds me of so many different things. The landscape is very beautiful and predominately made up of 3 colours: amazing, crystal clear glorious azure blue water, grey rugged granite hills and mountains and muted green shrubs. That's pretty much Sardinia. The architecture here is very different from anything else we have seen around Italy. It has a very Mexican/Spanish feel about it. ...

This morning finds me sitting outdoors on the hotel terrace, looking out over the beautiful blue waters of an inlet across to the rugged hills of Sardinia. Not a cloud in the sky. A great place to sit and write yesterday's blog! We were up early at Livorno - had to be at the ferry station by 6.30am. The hotel was lovely, despite the blocked plumbing and the slight (!) flooding problem we had with morning showers. Reception called to ask if we had ...
