Hi everyone today we dr0ve to Ancona to catch the ferry to Croatia. On the way we stopped at a typical Italian beach covered in deck chairs and umbrellas. We chose a place for lunch and set up on the deck chairs for a while on the beach. There are so many chairs that unless you are in the front row you cant actually gaze at the beach you just look at the back of other peoples deck chairs. Also because you are all so close together its a bit ...

    ... city.

Had Wild Boar for dinner last night at Ristorante Mario, village Chianti and tiramasu.

Today was spent sightseeing, found the track and sorted out where we would park as traffic will be insane, especially this year with Rossi leading the points. It's a sea of Yellow at the front gate with all the vendors

Early starts for us this weekend but excited to see the track and experience Motogp Italian style.

Big day today, we went on a 2 hour tour of the old town. Walls and Wars of Dubrovnik. Fascinating, I think the boys enjoyed it as well, especially as our guide, Marija, told lots of stories, one that comes to mind is, during the war in 1991, when they woke up one morning, their father found a grenade by the front door, it was a dud, did not go off, so he picked it up and threw it away, says they were lucky, would of blown ...

... the sun and the water. It was obviously not tourist season yet. We had the whole beach to ourselves or so it seemed.

We then borrowed bikes from our hotel and rode along the bike paths throughout the town. There were dozens of restaurants and cafes all along the water. The weather was glorious.

Paul contacted our car rental company, and he made arrangements for a late return of the car so we could spend time at the ...

    Exploring Ancona

... exploring the town of Ancona, walking through the cobblestone streets and many beautiful Piazzas, up the giant hill to the cathedral and fort that overlook the town. This is the travel we really love, getting away from the big cities where everyone speaks perfect English and everything costs an arm and a leg. The views from Cattedrale San Ciriaco at the top of the hill were spectacular. We could see the wall and Arco di Traiano, an arch that is over 2000 years old from Roman ...
