A magical day in Murren

... the train to Murren. After a lot of people got off at Winteregg JJ could sit in the driver's seat (at the back of the train) and pretend to drive. We then had the walk through Murren from the train station to the gondola station, which are opposite ends of the village. Murren is very picturesque as it is a small alpine village on a plateau with no road access; in fact our gondola and train also carried supplies for the Co-Op.

... pretty, around Lake Lucerne and past lots of farms and wineries - I know a lot is about the geography, but is this place so pretty and unspoilt because they didn't fight in the wars?? Or because they didn't have a navy and therefore didn't busily go about building empires in the new world? I do wonder. ... So he took us in a sharp spiral, my tummy flipped and we built up so much speed we felt G-forces. Amazing! Then we slowly drifted down towards the ground, and landing was as smooth as standing up from a chair. I wanted to go again! Unfortunately I didn't have another 170francs to spare, so we thanked the boys, and walked back to the hostel. ... The castle was being restored and party covered in scaffolding so we didn't go in. We will see plenty of castles in France. We walked back down to the old street which were pretty with flower filled window boxes and old wrought iron shop signs.
