Sights of Vaduz!
After arriving in Sargans after a picturesque train trip through the mountains from Zurich we caught a Liechtenstein bus to Vaduz Post. The bus took as through Balzers and Triesen in the south of Liechtenstein before arriving in central Vaduz. We had bought a 10CHF Wochenkarte for the Liechtenstein Bus which gave us unlimited use of the bus system …
Chur and the train trip to Morges
... side. Now a race against time it's 11:49 - check out for the hotel is 12noon and the train goes to Morges at 12:16. We get to the hotel at 12:01 get our bags and board the train at 12:15 - now that is to the minute timing! We have to make a change at Zurich and Camille had only downloaded up to the 12.09 train, so with a bit of guess work using the previous train times, we managed to make the connection with about 8 minutes to spare! We're getting good at ...
Not much in Lichtenstein
... check it out, but it wasn't very big or exciting, then I thought about driving into the mountains but it was so foggy I couldn't even see them, so thought better of it. Then I decided to head back towards Austria and Germany, when I saw a couple of girls standing by the road with a sign to a town 15mins away. So I decided, after assessing them fromafar, that they seemed nice enough and ...
Davos
... going out to watch an ice hockey game between Davos and Lucerne. We toasted the meal with “Viva la Grischa” (long live the Grischa region – which is the region that Davos is part of) and began to fix our first round of raclette. If you’re ever in Davos, and you use that local toast, Mägge informs us that you’ll instantly make friends. The raclette was simply delicious, especially with the variety of cheeses and fixings we had to go with ...
A little stop in a little country
... to continue to Vaduz, Liechtenstein. We arrive in Vaduz and find a park in the town. It is a quiet sort of backwater, not a city by any means and is quite modern but retains an olde world charm. We walk the main mall and find a little kebab store and get some lunch, then go to the information centre where we get our passports stamped. A spot of shopping follows and then we have a dilemma. No Swiss francs to pay for ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsHotel Residence Vaduz
Fantastic place to stay in Vaduz. We paid a little extra for the suite as it was our honeymoon destination of choice so our room was huge and had everything you could ask for. The staff were great and always willing to help you out. The hotel is right in the centre of Vaduz just below the castle and close to a bus stop and all the sights. The only part that was a little disappointing was the breakfast which did not have a great selection but the staff were willing to cook something if you requested it. Overall, we could not fault the hotel and will definitely stay here again when next we visit Vaduz.
