... no relevance to the story, but had said that while she was there, she was going to pick up a copy of a book on Lucca that she'd had her eye on for a while. It's the sort of book you see in lots of places, A4 size, in full colour with lots of glossy pictures and unashamedly aimed at tourists and visitors. ... hadn't realised when we stopped in Bellinzona last night that it is a Unesco World Heritage listed site, as it has 3 magnificent castles built in the 13th, 14th & 15th centuries and surrounded by a high city wall, and then surprisingly the weekend was also Unesco 'open house' weekend, so all buildings were open and free to the public.

... town to town. We first went to Varenna and walked around. Then back to Bellagio for lunch on the lake. Then to Managgio and back again to Bellagio.
