... pieces that I have in my room. The bells from the church in the square ring on the hour. I think they may stop after about 10pm and start again at 7am. Day 2: Lazy start to the day. I wander over for my breakfast at the cafe and catch up on emails etc. After breakfast I walk to the train station to confirm the times for tomorrow. I buy a ticket for the early morning train. Then I head off for the walk ...

I'm on the move again today. Metro to Termini train station and fast train to Milan at 11am. Takes 3 hours. Speeds of around 248 kms an hour. My ears keep popping when we go through the tunnels. Showed Sue around parts of Bellagio and some of the great shops. It was very busy but by 6pm, the tourists had left!! Had dinner and headed back to the apartment.
We are really looking forward to having a few days to relax and chill out. ...

The Spirit of Locarno

... alone is so iconic and significant, embedded into the pages of History. I don't know for a fact, but I bet the Statesmen came up here during a break in their discussions and enjoyed the spectacle. I can hear Stresemann and Briand and Chamberlain chatting away about the fate of nations and holding the prospect of peace in their hands, whilst at the same time making touristy chit-chat about the fab view.
The church is a wildly ornate affair, and to Protestant eyes, a ...
