... the end I could have kept on going. The scenery was amazing and the people canadians ans Austrians were a lot of fun. We are now on the road in the south of france heading for Spain in a brand new Peugot 206. Whether we get there is another question as there are so many beautiful places along the way. The weather has turned lousy with it raining all day today and really cold. Tomorrow we will head off again and see where the road takes us. Take care Carol

... it was a Bank Holiday, as in the UK, but we saw roadworkers, builders and postmen - and there were no children anywhere. In the afternoon we found an Intermarche and bought some fruit and veg. Maybe Mondays are half days in these parts? At Charite, I decided it wasn't skirt weather after all and reverted to cargoes and fleece. We'd better have some sun soon, or I'm going to run out of clothes! We didn't see the sun ...

... broadcloth coat; the fellow behind the bar was also in saloon-keeper western dress. But they spoke contemporary French. Hervé intends to attend the ABC program next year, so we had many things to discuss. We actually had bison for dinner, but this being France, we had bison brochettes. I'm not sure Crazy Horse would approve, but there it is. The meal was good, and we had a very pleasant and constructive visit. Tomorrow I head toward Switzerland.

On Le Weekend we met a group of the French kids and clearly they fell in love with us. So shortly after that weekend they wanted to party with us again as soon as they could. And did we ever. Quentin had a number of us over to get to know us a little better. A couple 40s later we were much better acquainted. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.

... is in our class invited us to her house for the weekend in the big city. We went shopping during the day at an actual mall : ) and ate some delicious Mac Do's. (McDonald's). We pre-drank, tried some Absinthe, drank some vodka, pigged out on some pizza and all of us girls got ready. I think everyone was there, Kate, Stacie, Chelsea, Katie, Victoria, Ruby, Ashlee, Jutta and Thais. We then went to a small party with Thais's friends, drank some more and headed to the club. So, on September 1 we headed to the Gare de Lyon and made our way down to Vichy. Its about 3 hours by regular train south to Vichy. When I got the station a girl from my school met me and took me right to my dorm. I was super nervous about this. I really wanted something nice to live in, and thankfully my dorm is perfect for me. It was super clean, had a shower, with pressure, toilet, and kitchenette ...

Reached Clermont-Ferrand at 6:07pm. Turned to night already. Snowing everywhere and the cold is almost the same as Park City, unlike Paris which was slightly warmer and no snow on the ground. Took a cab to Hotel Athena. Clermont-Ferrand is not the small town I thought it was. It's quite big and so different from Park City which consist of just a main street that's maybe 2km in length. The whole journey from Best Western Landmark Inn to Hotel Athena took nearly 28 hours. Didn't expect it ...

Mida lähemale linnale, seda vichysemaks ja vesiseks ka ilm kiskus. Seetõttu polnud me seal väga entusiastlikud turistid ja käisime vaid tiiru linnas ning maitsesime kraanidest vett. Tegemist oli sooja ja väga ebameeldiva maitselise veega. Seega 0,3 € topsi ostmine vee degusteerimiseks oli üsna mõttetu. Vichy külastamist jääb meile meenutama karp pastille.
