Journey to Interlaken
Today we left with Renee for her 10:15 am class. She showed us her school very briefly. It is a modern school, built in the last three years, that doesn’t fit very well with the rest of the picturesque town. Lisa and I took the 10:55am train from Lucerne to Interlaken. We used our last Eurail pass for this trip because it makes more sense to buy the one-way ticket to Zurich tomorrow and use the Eurail for the round-trip today. The perk ...
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
... of the mountains around us and a thick layer of snow on everything. We spent this day travelling up the 'Top of Europe' with amazing views.. That unfortunately we were unable to see because of the weather.. All well, we got to go into an ice palace and the views on the way back made up for it. We had snowball fights, made snow angels, bought Swiss Army knives, ate traditional fondu, celebrated Matt and Jaz ...
Water, water everywhere
... the Coop to get some water and stock up on chocolate. I think I’m completely out of francs now, except for some small coins. Now we’re resting up in the room waiting for the barbecue tonight.

Mmmmm ... cake
... played … well, I don’t know what it’s called, but it consists of a ceramic bowl and a five franc coin. The coin is spun in the bowl and the guy keeps it moving by gently moving the bowl. It makes a noise somewhere between a fire alarm and jingle bells. And then the accordionist joined in and they both sort of yodeled. It was quite an evening.
And now it’s 11:40 p.m. I really hope I don’t wake up super early again! Gute ...
