Our last full day in Mar Del Plata

A travel blog entry by jsquaredgoesto on Nov 01, 2015

... the beach was nice, a few people drinking mate, and we picked up a few shells. There are about 40 kms of developed shoreline in Mar Del Plata, much of it beach. There are many country clubs, and it seems everywhere you look the beach is lined with rows and rows of cabanas. He spoke of the training and the trip then illustrated his talk with photographs. Seems just as hard now as when the early explorers wandered around. There was a cocktail party before dinner then after dinner a slide presentation of the photographs people had put on the Quark computer. It gave a lovely recap to a great ...

Heading south we spent a night in Mar del Plata, another large city on the coast. Nothing special about the town except it is the second largest beach town in the country and does indeed have a very wide beach that was crowded even as the sun was setting. It's surrounded by very flat, very fertile farmland. What strikes me most is how little we know about this country. Seems like people either live in huge cities or in very isolated, tiny villages.
