... one-way five lane boulevards.

So here's a qustion: what do you do at a beach resort in winter? On the advice of the guidebook I visited the port. I got off the bus at a cluster of tacky all-you-can-eat restaurants (plastic tables, plastic menus) around a car park, got directions to the wharf and went for a walk.

The wharf was two kilometres long, curving out to sea. A group of sea lions were lazing on the beach, presumably ...

... didn't speak any English and even though we were getting better at basic Spanish, we couldn't understand what he was trying to tell us. He started pointing to his right which Chrissy though meant that there was an ATM not far away... Nope that wasn't it... ... in the UK. However, Mardel has none of the tackiness and is really very pleasant to walk around, with wide treelined boulevardes and of course the parks of which the Argentinians are so fond and of which they take great care.

... beach at all. It was still cloudy after an hour of been there and it was really windy so we decided to play games on the beach instead. It was fun and very relaxing as there was no hustle and bustle like you usually get on the beaches. For the majority of the day the sun was in and out behind clouds so wasn't quite sun bathing weather. We got up early and headed to the bus station to catch a bus to villa gessal a beach town up the coast. We missed the bus by a few minutes, not sure if this was meant to be though as we were going to book for the next one until we discovered it was an expensive journey. We were only going to visit the beach as we heard it was quite lively during the holiday season but we weren't willing to pay how much the ticket was ...
