Hotel Regente Madrid

... dancing and one guy with a guitar in the basement of a bar. The performance was part dancing, part history lesson, part musical, but all fun. It was definately the highlight of my Madrid experience.

Ok, then next day was our "big day" we went to the palace in the moring, walked around the grounds and in all the rooms, afterward went over to a park where we were told there would be pyramids...they wernt, but ...

... traffic, all the French were coming to Spain for holidays so traffic jams ahoy. We got off before the servo and all lined up for the toilet and waited for the bus to finally make it to the servo. Then we headed off again.
Apparently we were terribly behind as Calvin's good humour was there but you could tell he wasn't impressed with out schedule (no fault of ours!) so we got to Burgos at 12.40 or so, and immediately after getting off the bus, a massive wind brought in storm ...

... now ..." She said something to me in Spanish, but being too busy drooling, all I could make out was her saying the number "24". Perhaps she was telling me that I was sitting in seat #24, but it's entirely possible that she was saying "Stop looking at me like that, you pervert! I am only 24!!!" I took my seat. A third beautiful flight attendant walked down the aisle, counting the passengers. A fourth beautiful flight attendant ...

... soccer tournament was two nights ago where all the Americans stood amongst the smoking mulleted men in a place called museo de jamon ==the ham museum==as they clenched there fists in excitement of the soccer win for Madrid. everyone partied like an animal that night. ... earphones and got to watch spanish soaps, and listen to cheesy spanish tunes. i spent the whole time watching colleen sleep with her mouth open, hoping that her head wouldnt stray too far into the aisle and get nailed by the stewardess walking by. anyways, so we got to madrid, found our hostel, which was a converted spanish palace. had mosaics and stained glass coming out the ying yang. and we met a guy that we actually saw in ...

It all starts to get a bit blurry from here, but we end up at some sort of Salsa club where we meet a bunch of cool people from Colombia living in Madrid. The Dane (or possibly I???) buys a bottle of Rum and that's the last I see of him. The next thing I remember gives me flashbacks from Popayán ...

... to compensate us, we each got 600 Euros (like $900 USD) and a night in a 4 star hotel, not bad huh. We met another guy who had been bumped, he was from Brazil, Belo Horizonte actually, so the four of us made the most of the situtation and tried to go see a Real Madrid Soccer game the next day. Tickets were hard to come by but we stood outside the stadium for awhile before giving up. We made our flight to Joburg that night without any problems.
