Tsukiji fish market, for those who don't know, is the world's largest seafood
market. I'd read about this market and had initially planned to visit the place
early in the morning when the auction for the Bluefin tuna is on, but I was
certainly in the need for good food now, at 14:00, so off I went.

... other than to stand by the entrance, smile and say hello. The range of foods stretches beyond the expected bento boxes and fried chicken. I sampled the southern barbequed pulled pork in a bun, and very nice it was too. Though the eel flavoured ice cream was a tad too adventurous for my tastes.

And then there is the beer. Though I’m not a big drinker (whatever impression my past writings give) it must be said that an ice cold beer ...

... shops which we soon discovered meant there were virtually no food shops, certainly no ramen shops, on the main street. We eventually found a food court, with a ramen restaurant, in the street that runs parallel to the main street. While I didn't order from the machine what I had chosen from the menu, the miso ramen I had was delicious and warmed me up. ... 30 minutes to go to reach my hostel. The irony was I had planned to leave early, not arriving in the dark, and having some day left to see some of Tokyo. From start to finish was 7 hours, to go I would guess 150km. Well it goes to show you nothing is perfect, not even the Japan rail system. I am settled into my hostel, reading, and just ate some homemade pizza, from a funky place around the corner. Tomorrow will be a busy one for me, seeing some of the sights in ...
