... the mistake of lying on the bed for a while. When it came time to get up I could hardly move...all my muscles were stiff and sore and my rib cage and knees felt quite bruised. Clearly not surfing fit! This was to be our last evening out together as tomorrow we'd be flying to Rio and then the day after we'd be off home. We chose a small little restuarant (run by a Swedish chef apparently) and had another good meal. Then it was the same formula - ice cream followed by coffee followed by ...

Being a bit out the way the beach wasn't developed at all with just one permanent structure and a few Barracas with loungers and umbrellas. The Dolphins moved a bit further out into the bay, so Annick went off to hire one of the canoes on offer in an attempt to get closer to them. They paddled out but it wasn't that easy to get close to them, as although the Dolphins were close inshore they moved about the bay in a haphazard fashion, only showing themselves occasionally ...

... bottle of Chilian Sauvignon Blanc (and juice for the girls) followed by Lemon Cheescake and a proper Italian Cappucino. It was devine. We met the Chef, Michele - he was a true Italian from Rome who had moved here for a beautiful woman and the wonderful weather (it sounded familiar to me, except for the weather bit). After wandering the lively main street for a bit we returned home and crawled into bed, fully satisfied after another wonderful day in ...

... turrets, tapestries, arrow slit windows, stained glass, cobwebbed chandeliers (real cobwebs, I saw the spiders), pointed archways and a suit of armour in the entrance hall. Strange but really cool, it's a nice place to stay, and it has been great to settle down for 8 nights, I even unpacked - a first! Unfortunately we are in the epicentre of the party district, loud music, crowds and chanting goes through the night. It will be wonderful to experience silence ...
