... the mistake of lying on the bed for a while. When it came time to get up I could hardly move...all my muscles were stiff and sore and my rib cage and knees felt quite bruised. Clearly not surfing fit! This was to be our last evening out together as tomorrow we'd be flying to Rio and then the day after we'd be off home. We chose a small little restuarant (run by a Swedish chef apparently) and had another good meal. Then it was the same formula - ice cream followed by coffee followed by ...

... Just like Sid, Do also got it straight away and her first ride took her all the way into the shore. I was always going to struggle as although my balance is pretty good I'm not very supple (particularly after yesterdays sprints!) which made getting up into a standing position none too easy. After our huge lunch we weren't too hungry, so settled on a few plates of very tasty Brazilian tapas. We then wandered around the streets a bit. It was winter and as such low season in Pipa. Weatherwise all this meant was that it rained (for 2 months of the year) and was just a couple of degrees cooler. But the rain ...

... we finally found one in a little restuarant overlooking Praia do Centro, Pipa's main beach. Whilst we lovingly sipped our first taste of good coffee and the girls guzzled on freshly squeezed lime and strawberry juices (for around Eur 1 each!), we gazed out from under the thatched roof of the restuarant at the white sand, blue waters and little fishing boats bobbing in the bay. Pipa started life as a simple fishing village but was discovered in the ...

    Long transit day to Natal

A travel blog entry by tnanoble on May 26, 2015

... We finally arrived in Natal at around 2130 and jumped straight into a taxi to make the trip to our place down at Ponta Negra. It took about 15mins and we arrived at our hostel just before 2200. We showered and admired the place we were in and how nice it was considering the price we paid. So much cheaper than our tiny place in Fortaleza and so much nicer with our own bathroom, fridge and microwave. We crashed out not after realising the TV in the room had no English channels ...
