For now we have moved to stay with some family of Carina who live in Bogota for a few days ... the plan was to leave on Sunday and head south for the Coffee region but they have just told us that the roads are blocked due to heavy rain and landslides, so may have to rethink that!! TBD ...

La Candelaria reminds me a lot of Portland in that way. There is a small alley where you can buy "chicha", a homemade alcoholic drink made from fermented maize or pineapple, which the college students sit around drinking in the plazas, giggling and making out with one ...

... think I had gotten rid of everything that was making me feel bad. I was able to sleep somewhat then. I was really weak, and I wished I had some Gatorade, but this is probably about the first trip that we have made that I didn’t bring it.

I was able to sleep the rest of the night. I sipped tiny sips of water as to not aggravate my condition, but to also get some fluids in me.

A beautiful and so enjoyable day had to end so ...
