      ... fields. A huge number have machetes and looked pretty adept at using them. Not the sort of guys to pick an argument with. One thing is for sure, these guys work hard. Really hard. The steepness of the slopes and the general poor quality of a lot of the land means mechanised farming is just not feasible and it is all done by hand.

      As we get closer to San Cristobal, it is noticeable that conifers start to dominate the landscape and it almost resembles ...

      ... radishes and occasionally corn as well.
      We are hosted by one of the local weaving families who have beautiful textiles for sale. While we are there Sabrina and Malcolm are dressed in local wedding attire and continue the husband and wife charade. It's a colourful costume for both men and women!
      Lunch is a simple meal which is nice for a change but still 3 courses - we are all eating so much!
      A few artisan rugs and trinkets are bought and we head back ...

      ... home so many souvenirs which will always bring back such great memories. The town has also been our favourite to take photos in, so much colour and so many different types of people. We would be up in the morning for breakfast then out and about mingling between taking photos and exploring the shops.       ... filled with local families lying/kneeling on the floor performing their ritual involving, 7 different coloured candles, dead chickens as a sign of sacrifice, soft drink which they drink and burp up (which is used to release and rid themselves of the bad energy within them). I turned and saw a man sitting on the floor amongst the pine needles with his wife and his child. He was chanting and crying, his tears completely affected me. Tears came to my eyes and I didn't even know why. ...

      ... eat salad bar / 2 soup selection plus meat. There was five cuts that one had to eat: New York, rib eye, top sirlion, beef rib eye and T bone (which they had run out of) but we could have chosen any other meat again … and if that was enough you can have some more (which I did not!).
