Roughly around October 5th or 6th I went on a...Visa run! For my first "get out of the country for 72 hours or get deported" venture, I chose beautiful Nicaragua. I didn't put much planning into it; rather, packed my bag, had a vague idea of where I would be going, and bought a bus ticket. My carrier was TicaBus, which has comfortable seats, air-conditioning, and plays movies during the trip. What this breaks down to: seats are comfy, yes...bring a down blanket, earmuffs and a scarf because t...

... of water, a whole pizza (nice and fancy style) and a bottle of wine after tax and tip is was $18 US. it tasted good as well which was a bonus- i guess most people would look at it the other way around its nice when everything is cheap and your hotel costs $15 because you can spend your money on fun things. we are headed to mombacho canopy tours at 9am )dormant volcano with a ´´cloud´´ forest and we should get to see monkeys and crazy birds ...
Granada, Nicaragua montgomeryr3... in the village bought some strings, had breakfast and then asked some children of the village to catch some crabs for us. Breaking away their legs we attached them at our self made fishing-rod, climed on a tree and tried to fish some. Eventually we ended up with nothing in our hands and only the idea in our heads to go and get some beer. Wandering around the only street existing we took a break at a soda... had a few liters of Toña for lunch and headed ...
Managua, Nicaragua aileenchen... it was delicious I tell you. Checked out the museum for a bit and took a bunch of pictures. Ran into some folks and ended up wandering the streets around 3am. Just like home... G: Nice little breakfast croissant sandwich. Last day in Granada and still decided to not do the isletas tour, or visit la laguna de apoyo or the volcan mombacho. We´ve got all of that in Costa Rica and wanted to enjoy a nice and safe little city. Some ...
Granada, Nicaragua consWe took a bus to Managua this morning on our quest to make it to Mexico! We met a lovely couple on the bus who we decided to spend the day and night with, so we blagged them a free room at our hostel in the false cover of reporters for our website! Nice work we thought! In exchange for a free room they insisted on cooking us dinner. Who are we to refuse?! So we had the most amazing lentil stew for a late afternoon meal. After that we headed into town to look around the shopping centre ...
Managua, Nicaragua edandaliTime starting to become prominent in or minds we decided to miss the coast and head in what seemed a natural progression to Granada. A direct quote from the good book for you "For most people the highlight of there Central America experience". A couple of buses was all it took. A change in the countries Capital Managua. Through Craft centro Masaya with a mental note taken to return and into "most peoples highlight". Oasis, a grubby hostel ...
Granada, Nicaragua nadiavinnyManagua is not the nicest place in Nicaragua, so we only stayed there a night as we arrived late on the plane. In the morning we left the hostel to try and find an ATM and started walking in one direction and the man at the hostel said no, and pointed us in another direction! Now, we have no idea if he thought we wanted the bus stop that was where he pointed us, or whether if we walked the other way we would have got shot!! Our Spanish is not that good!! We never ...

I slept well during the night, no bug problems. I woke up once and noticed that a light was on in the girls' room. When I opened the door, they all gasped in fear and fell off the bed! When they saw the door move, they thought whatever was making noises was going to get them. We found out later that it was lizards. They are small and loud but only poisonous if you touch them ...
