I wake early before our set alarms go off. So determined not to miss the bus I set two alarms just in case. Thank goodness because Grant's fancy Kathmandu world clock/torch didn't end up going off. We lug our packs & gear downstairs to check out. Breakfast doesn't open until 7:30, we line up & I gobble down a baguette spread with Nutella as we watch out the window with anticipation for the arrival of the busabout bus. You can't miss when it pulls in across ...

During the first free moment in the city at the start of my tour, a friend and I went to Park Güell to see some of Gaudí's work. I knew I wanted to ...

... high altitude exercise. A bugs in the face face, and a few hours later we recited for our cycling careers just as it began to rain. Our afternoon was occupied by that great cultural Swiss game of "bowling". Excited to assert our dominance in an American game, we chose scoreboard names carefully. Mark was Bubba Watson and I was Ronald Reagan.

we are about to get a good night of rest because to,or row we are off to Italy. Talk to you from Turin!

... to be release into the public area of the slopes. I had to decline but I did realise that anyone who stands still and watches is a potential customer - the Oz connection was just co-incidence.
One other site worth mentioning in Wengen was 'toboggan grannie'. I saw her coming down one of the lanes which ran parrallel to the shopping strip, a gentle but longer way to the shops which 'slalomed' it's way down the hill. I didn't have my camera ready to catch the site of a woman who ...
