... some nice times together we unload everything and settle in.
That’s been 10 days ago now and we are taking it super easy. The place is a one room apartment and we are four people and I think we are managing it like champs. We get up at around 8 am, drink coffee, look at the waves, Jason goes surfing, I hang out, he comes back, we go for a walk, we go surfing together, we get shores done, drive to the pueblo Los Llanos, we take a nap, eat, relax, play with Lucy ...
... or Oaxaca. Up until the early to mid 20th century it was just a small fishing village. But with the Mexican resort boom in the early seventies, the area were perfect for building a government planned resort village nearby called Ixtapa.
Its the best of both worlds. If you want to stay in a resort area with mega-resort amenities then Ixtapa is your place. If you want to experience rural Mexican living, like we do, then Zihua is for you. Its just a ten minute bus ride between ...
... and accepted Christ as her savior. A few months later, her mother also accepted Christ. As Carminda told me, they are "fruit" of the church here...which is yet more proof that God is present in Irapuato, working in the lives of the natives.
At the beach, there were many times where I wish I was better at Spanish...they would ask me questions and I didn't know what they were saying, let alone how to answer. I know ...
... be a good place to go if you wanted an all inclusive, stress free vacation with beautiful beaches and hotels.
Before we arrived in Ixtapa we were pulled over by two military check points. These areas are usually heavily armed with at least 10- 20 soldiers guarding the area. We passed many in the last couple weeks but we are both expecting that this time we were pulled over because Christina was driving ...
... had a kick ass arcade for the kids. Go figure. Helen and I had a great dinner way a top the bay one night and dinner in the downtown area another night. We had this great bay access path below our hotel that gave us a thirty minute walk to town and made a great jogging path in the morning. I even gave the surf a try right in front of our hotel in the bay but was way to close to the rocks for me. This little local nut on a surf board would ride waves right into the rocks.
Zihuatanejo, Pacific Coast, Mexico joelmunoz1968... not to talk as loud as they normally do. The film reel of the movie had to be 3 times!!!! But when it was on, we really liked the movie a lot, it created incredible emotions in us we were sentimental for two days so grateful to be together, which we still are of course! The situation here in Guerrero has, unfortunately, become more difficult and not as safe as it used to be. For quite some time the cartel (drug mafia) is attacking more and more throughout the country and ...

... very traditional dancing, some of the singing... and all those stands that only had food and drinks. Even though there must have been 40 or more stands, they were all packed. No point in putting an arts and crafts stand up or something creative, there is food and that should cover it all. It was really interesting to see though how festivities are taken out here. Back downtown, screens would show the incredible crouds in Mexico City. This special day is reason enough to ...
Zihuatanejo, Mexico lenitasworld... for free. Hmmmmm....let's see....we opted to park for free. We walked along the beach and within minutes we were approached by three people that seemed to have enjoyed their day. We were offered beer and formally met Miguel, Myriam and Felipe all from the state of Sinaloa to the north. We engaged in some small talk before we decided to grab a table and sit down for some more drinks. The party began to pick up steam and before long ...
Zihuatanejo, Mexico mikeandgerHello Everyone Iīm Back!!! Yeh, I know itīs been a while, Summer was busy in Chicago plus I was just to depressed to write anything. I volunteered at the Gay Games in Chicago and that was kind of fun but then I just wound up feeling used by the so called staff I just wound up discouraged by the whole thing. I also went to a bunch of concerts up at Ravinia; itīs an outdoor place, North of Chicago, that puts on a Summer of shows and where you can pay fairly little money and just sit on ...
