Welcome to my new home for the next 8 weeks! <br><br>Aft** all that traveling, returning to Vienna was a bit of a relief. My new home is a 2 bedroom apartment that I'm sharing with Rebecca. My room ov**looks the park and a cafe/bar, but as previously mentioned is on the 3rd floor, so I get my ex**cise going up and down the stairs, especially with groc**ies. Our apartment also has a full kitchen – stove, oven, dishwash**, microwave, coffee, pot ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria hachbach... in outside of Paris, problems with the WC’s and no water pressure for showers. They are off to Prague and then Interlaken. She asked where we stayed, but I couldn’t remember. They have 4 children, Christopher is 8 and his 2 sisters are teenagers along with their cousin from South American spending a holiday with them. His parents just joined them in Vienna and will do the Prague, Interlaken and then a Madrid visit. Nice way ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria dancejill... last day. We spent the morning wandering around the monuments again, taking pictures and trying to process all the beauty around us. We met up with the family of some friends who were kind enough to treat us to a real Austrian food lunch (as opposed to donor kapab or falafel, which we usual eat) at a beautiful restaurant downtown. We are so fortunate to have friends all over the world! They recommended that we go to the Belvedere Museum a bit out of town. Again ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria maam... amusing for us. The atmosphere was great and we had a great time. SUNDAY Sunday morning we checked out of our hotel, then went to Vienna's Central Cemetary, which is the largest cemetary in Europe. It really was huge and was an amazing historic and artistic place. The graves of Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and other composers... were all there, as well as monuments to others. It was really neat. I really, really like cemetaries A LOT in general, and wished we ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria alina-beth... how many days until I would get to go home and return back to the Rochester College campus I am use to. Again..wishing time away. Throughout September, we spent all of our time in Austria and I enjoyed it and had fun when I was out doing things around Vienna during the day. But at night, that cloud of worry would appear back over my head and I would just start looking forward to December 8th, the day I fly home. I would worry about all the things I had to get done, and just ...
Vienna, Vienna, Austria rlr2007... I was so full there was no temptation at all to sample things. I did enjoy the sights, sounds and smells. Most of the stalls are owned and operated by immigrants from Turkey and Eastern Europe. At the northeast end of the Naschmarkt is the Secession building, the home of Art Nouveau. I decided not to pay to go into the art collection there. Friday evening I finished the day by going to a concert in the Stephansdom. The Robert Page Festival Singers and the Budapest Concert ...
Vienna, Austria oyvindsandve... as vietnamese, chinese, italian, America (even a soda shop), several martini bars, and lots of clubs-though not much business tonight given its a holiday. I have to admit, the more I walk around the city, the more I can see why its third in the world for quality of life (Although the parking fees are a little high). At no time have I felt as if the streets are unsafe to walk. Ciao
Vienna, Austria manofmayo... cultural capitals with classical music, operas and museums. We went to a concert with the Wien Mozart Philharmonics, but we realised afterwards that it wasn't the best choice. It's the orchestra wearing costumes and palying the most famous classical pieces. The concert was entertaining enough, but I don't think the quality of the orchestra can match any of the more serious orchestras. In addition the tickets were more expensive than the ...
Vienna, Austria borgnykv... all the way back and kept it like that even though there was no screen. One cool thing about it was we could hang out it and check out the side street. Dinner wasn't included this night so we walked to find a restaurant and it was raining. The closest thing was a Burger King and we chose that. It did have a good frozen lime cola. At 7:30, we had an optional excursion to the Kursalon Waltz Show inside the Hofburg. It was supposed to be outside ...
