      We woke up to a beautiful vista from our balcony that overlooked the valley towards to sea. San Marino has a population of 30 000 and is tax free. At the very top is a walled city and our hotel was just outside the wall. It also has 3 enclosed forts that look spectacular lit up at night as well as during the daylight.
