... heard of San Marino but as Sue mentioned it is an independent state named after a Christian stonemason Marinus from around 300 when he hid in the mountain peaks to avoid persecution by the Romans and started a community there. It must have been a case of too small a fish to worry about as today, the mountain state exists as the 5th smallest country in the world. The buildings and scenery were breathtaking. Well worth the long bus ride to get there
San Marino, San Marino, San Marino pollies... Dave is having a lot more success at tanning than me.
So the time has come to move on again. Tomorrow we are getting the morning train to Venice, hopefully giving us the afternoon to look around and have some dinner before getting the night train to Budapest. It will be our first experience of a sleeper train and we have heard mixed reviews. Still, we are both excited and can't wait to get to Hungary... a step closer to Moscow!
Love!

... with sweat and dirt. To top it off everywhere stinks like you wouldn't believe! The worst part about it is that I don't smell the stink as much anymore … which means that I now stink!!
So that's another way to paint it. Sounds terrible doesn't it? Well it is!!
But it's not.
Hence the dichotomy!
But alas, I seem to have found my peace and found my pleasure. Complete with all its beauty, its filth, and its contradictions and toil - this is a ...

(We do work shifts here - I'm on the afternoon shift - for those of you wondering why I might be allowing the goats to run wild as I sit back and snicker! lol! )
But I'll back up in time a bit and give the low down leading to now....

The beach is actually sand, which is a novelty for Italy. We picked up some of the free bikes from the hotel and rode all around the city. I stopped and had a quick swim, Outside of the fact both of our asses were completely numb and bruised afterwards (not the best bikes ...
Rimini, Emilia-Romagna, Italy moore_mattj... the track prices were so high for the gear and we got it for joining the fan club. From here we went to the town of Rimini and tried to find the Italian National motorcycle Museum. The GPS had us in the area but we couldn’t find it , even asking around was fruitless so we drove around the local airport side road amongst farm houses and came upon it tucked up a side road with very little signage. The man was heading out for lunch but also told us ...

Florence, Italy jessien... bus. Thoughts of losing the our room in Firenze and missing our flight back to London (after all, we would have to take the same route in order to get back to the Forli airport). Here it was mid-afternoon on a Friday and our flight back to London on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps we could just find a hostel nearby or even in Bologna. Or perhaps, we should try to pull some cards and get to Firenze...good plan. We hooked a cabbie outside and told him to get us to the ...
