A travel blog entry by yellow-gumboots on Jan 06, 2014

Hi friends and family, We've been so busy and internet access is so hard to come by that we haven't posted recently. Since our last entry Holly and I have woken up at 3:45 to check out of our terminal one accommodation, then checked out of our flight from the previous night and then checked into the flight for the Singapore - Chennai leg of our journey. We arrived at Chennai airport an hour late on a flight that was spacious, ...

Overtaking wherever possible, horn on automatic, the driver is following the 'good horn, good brakes, good luck' motto to the ...

... being mango season. For a foreigner, these scenes are unmatched to anything you find at home. The colours, the bustle, the scale of everything to Kanu's amusement is amazing. I left the market, happy with the exercise mat I bought for under a pound (with the aid of Kanu's haggling in Hindi) all in all, I will happily make a trip to the market, be it just for a mooch or the next jeep related ...

I think that was enough to start my Transition shock. See up until that point I didn't realize there was really such a thing. The hotel was pretty expensive by local standards yet it was a little dirtier than one would like to imagine so I was pretty grateful for bringing my own bed sheets and stuff. After a cold shower we tried getting some sleep to no ...
