I know it is amazing... like how did they erect these things 3000 years ago?
I can't tell you anything you already didn't know about this place I'm afraid, except that you get just as close from outside the perimeter fence as you do if you pay the entry fee so why pay?
... former glory. Such a shame - lucky I don't have to hunt out the ones in the UK, I can just see them on the continent in a few weeks. :)
There is a nice gated entry to the cathederal gounds. I particulary like the sheep and the boot hang above the shops next door to show the illiterates what they sell. Now I konw where to get my sheeps boots ;-)
Across the road is a tudor style house, the builder must of been drunk when laying the floor for the second story.
So we got up fairly early after a disturbed sleep... seems we parked opposite the university student accomodation. So there was a fair bit of foot traffic going by during the night. Having said that I remember my Uni days and i can safely say that I was a LOT rowdier.
Out for a run around the town and up the surounding hills to check out the town and get some execise - got to say it is a great way to get to know a town ...
... head down the freeway.
7pm Dinner stop at KFC... hmm things aren't starting off on a healthy foot.
We see a sign for Winchester, it is closer that Salisbury so we head there instead.
8;30pm Found a nice park on a back street good spot to spend the night.
Exhausted we make the bed and fall into it asleep, looking forward to checking out the town in the morning.
On Monday morning we checked out and then went to Venice Beach and Santa Monica where we shopped some more. We then took the car back and went to the airport. The flight left at 17:35 and was just over 9 hours. We arrived home yesterday at around 11:20am UK time.

We are now at our 12 1/2 week point. So today we had to go for our first check up and scan. We went to a private ...
... I believe that even though my mother grew up close by she never visited them once!! Probably a bit like me and local attractions.
We took a couple of meer cat shots to send back to Tash!! It was good to catch up with them again but time just went too fast and they had to catch the bus back to London.
On Sunday I took a short day trip to the old city of Bath. The city was first founded thousands of years ago when the Romans conquered Brittania and settled. A great temple and bath was founded on the site of the current city, hence the name - Bath. Today you can see much of the Roman ruins of the baths complex. Part of it has been restored, but the original plumbing and drain system is in place and it still ...
Bath, United Kingdom ajamesnavratilI woke up really early to the neighbors dog yapping away. I am sure you would have heard it all the way to Scotland. Finally Sonya went and brought her (that dogs name is Lady and is Bobs girlfriend apparently) over to spend the day with us. Sonya and her neighbors all have a dog club of sorts and they even come over to each others houses to take the dogs on field trips. So we had not two, but three bounding beasts chasing each other around ...
Andover, United Kingdom whereshegoes... fare all the while checking out the other outfits which ranged from male Lara Crofts to Star Wars to Immodest Nuns on Skateboards. The next day, we slept in then Andy and I went out to do some errands. As it was my last days in England, Sonya made a fabulous roast chicken dinner and we had banana splits (with 'sugar strands'...aka sprinkles) for dessert. We watched the Miss World pagent and cheered everytime Miss Canada showed up on the screen. Nice to know ...
