So for those who ever plan to travel to west Germany, one day in Düsseldorf is more than enough haha. I took the train out of Brussels and arrived in Düsseldorf around 3pm. The girls that I stayed with in Scotland are actually from this province and had just arrived home last week so they came and picked me up from the hostel not long after I arrived. Today was a girls only day, a full day of shopping in Oberhausen Germany, this is a 50 minute drive for us (my family lives 10 minutes from the German border). The Germans are very rude people, not friendly at all. The shopping centre we went to is huge, makes Shellharbour Square look very small, we didn't get the see the whole centre, especially with the way Jennifer, her daughter Merlin and Katie like to shop in every shop. ...

    Germany

A travel blog entry by tmckay54 on Mar 27, 2014

... far, almost no one speaks much English. It is quite a contrast to the Netherlands, where almost everyone speaks it well. On the other hand, I can decipher a lot of German due to the similarity of so many words to English, whereas when the Dutch speak to each other, I cannot pick out a single thing, despite the fact that Mientje says that I was fluent at the age of 5. This morning we set off from Zwolle at about 9, with me driving this time, heading ...
