... hotel. I was expecting to be ejected any minute, but we finished our picnic and walked back onto the street. Eventually, by asking again we came through Krefeld and had our first glimpse of the Rhine. We could not ride along the river as we had hoped, but had to divert away to pass all the heavy industry spread out on the waterfront. ... being shouted at by the marshals, we saw a campsite sign and decided to go for it even though it was early. We had to dry out the tents. While the sun was shining. It was warm and sunny in the afternoon but cooled down towards evening. As the shops were closed for the Whitsun holiday, we are down to cuppa soups and our last slice of bread. Only muesli with no milk, a few nuts and an apple for breakfast. When the shop open tomorrow we can top up our ...

... s history, this new manifestation is just as controversial there as it is in Vermont. To me, they fit the landscape, although there are so many they become overwhelming. We made a big loop, emerging again farther west, without seeing any tulips. We headed east, pointed toward the Hoge Veluwe National Park. This is an area of 6,000 hectares (14,000 acres) which was formerly a huge estate. It is now a park with many kilometers of bike paths, ...
