Actually, there is no business there now and it looks run down. Next was our old airbase which is now used for some commercial, charter and private jet operations. ... much dusting...One or two is best for me. After a long day of sightseeing in Cologne time to find the Cologne beer - which was not a problem at all - they have little pubs along the pedestrian area which runs about two blocks. Stopped at Papa Joe's...must be a kind of local hangout.. We found a window table onto the square so we could people watch. We saw two weddings...lots of tourists...a pug dog...a few ...

... the city hall dating back to 1200 although it has been extended twice with different architectural style. It has been rebuilt after being extensively damaged by allied bombing in WWII. The highlight was the Cologne cathedral, which is the second tallest church in Germany, is a magnificent structure. We stopped for lunch in Cologne, and found a massive carnival! It was full of crazy rides and games and food! I played a dart game where you pop balloons, and I hit with all but one of my darts, so I got to pick a prize! ... However, they were showing the Germany v USA match inside Cologne station and I just could resist. I stayed and watched. You weren't allowed to drink inside the station, but I know for a fact there were drunk people around me. One woman decided to shout "kein Nazis" at one point.
