... views. The volcano is only belching smoke, no lava is flowing. The views are magnificent. Life seems good on Stromboli, very slow and relaxed.

Today i take the ferry to Salina. This is one very slow paced island. There is not much to see here, its more about the very very relaxed lifestyle. The town pretty much closes at around midday and nothing opens again till 5pm. Lucky the odd cafe stays open.

Have been exploring this little island on foot. From where we are staying in San pietro it's a 30 minute walk to the beach for a swim. We discovered the prehistoric village perched up on a small isthmus, dating from prehistoric times. 14th century bc. From this position they could see everything that was coming to get them! 22 round stone hits were uncovered in 1949. ...

... in Rinella. Very hot over 30 degrees already. Anyway you have these things when you travel without tour guides! Here at Rinella we wondered up to a cafe and ordered cappucin and croissant. After we walked down to the black beach where all the residents and holiday makers were taking a morning dip. The sand is black. I've never really seen black sand ...
