... Ferries speeding in and out of the port were loading tourists on and off the Island faster than the restaurants could cope. Maybe as a result of the bad seas yesterday they were playing catch up but that was no use to us as we had set our hearts on a big pizza and glass of wine. No luck so we head to the supermarket to cook on board again - not all bad as we had ...

... only to hear Scott respond " f..k the Dolphins we are looking for the anchorage", Think he is loosing the plot with this sailing game. Good timing as seems like every other boat in the area has same idea including all the day trip boats. Packed in like sardines is definitely appropriate tonight as we snuggle in between 2 large boats. A good shepherds pie and a still boat for the night makes it all worthwhile after a sleepless 40 ...

The sulphur fumes and rotten egg odour hit you as soon as you disembark, and get more intense as you reach the bubbling stretch of mud. You can buy a ticket for the mud for 2 euros, and pay an additional euro to get a shower token. Having come this far, it was an experience too rare to miss, though the smell was awful. It was a hot day - low 30s, and probably a lot higher out ...

... Lipari is a tourist tow. The greeting party is a bevy of touts trying to flog you rooms, tours, cars, boats, you name it. However, they are great sports and, unlike Rome, take no for an answer. The walk up to the hotel from the wharf was really pleasant. A warm sun, gentle breeze, a beautiful cobbled pedestrian street, and the smell of frangipani in the air - such a nice change from Aspra's sight and smell of uncollected garbage. Lipari is a very pretty little town with ...

... I watched his double masts from 10 to 3, if like a clock, 12 is straight up. boy, it sure was an uncomfortable ride for all aboard that boat. We hung out, and hung on to Milena all days. Jacques and Marina went to town with the garbage, and were back in less than an hours. I thought we were going to go to dinner in town, but Marina said no. Since they have to get up at 5:00a.m,, Jacques was doing to make. A leg of lamb for dinner. Boy what ...
