Nothing fancy but clean, old style hotel right on the banks of Lake Como (or Lake Lecco if you are a local). Very well located on the banks of the lake opposite the city, with views over the city. Close to a number of restaurants and within walking distance of the city centre.

... By far the best pavilion was Kazakstan. you walked in, and there was a lady drawing with sand. And then you went into this room and had onn 3-D glasses. You sat in chairs that also moved. It was incredible. I stayed there from 9am to 5pm, and right now I am exhausted! I cannot wait to go to sleep. And tomorrow, when I wake up, it will be m birthday :) So I am excited to celebrate and see what Italy does for me on my sweet sixteen. Thats all for now ...
... Tim loved the diving boards. We've had many delicious meals thanks to Holly. The other night we went for pizza and Tim ordered what he thought was salami, but turned out to be a salmon pizza ;0) A few more things are the caves that we toured around Porlezza, and then zip line experience yesterday! Quite a rush! Today we are off to a mini vacation to Cinque Terre, Lucca, and Florence. Oh yes- we also took a ferry from Mennagio to Bellagio! ...

We've got a Ford Galaxy with 8 seats (leather), a sunroof, tray tables for the boys and more random compartments than we could possibly use. There's no shortage of room and we load up, fire up tom tom and head towards the autostrade bound for Como. Just over 3 hours of driving later, we arrive and find out way to our apartment, Le Stanze del ...
... ahead to buy a few groceries the night before so that we could have a breakfast in the house before we left for the day. Amy's choice for her birthday was a cut up fresh fruit salad, greek vanilla flavored yogurt, and crushed almonds on top. It's interesting, before we left and I reserved this house with a kitchen, I thought - aww how cute maybe we'll be tired of eating out and want to cook some meals in. Um, no. The answer when you actually get there is no. Why would I ever want ...
... villa, so there are some photos of that too.
I think we are hiking up a hill to a castle this afternoon, so I may have some more photos to add later. The workshop ends tomorrow around lunchtime.
I am heading to Oxford tomorrow night. I will be pretty sad to leave Italy!
BTW I have MANY more photos, I just selected some highlights. Let me know if you are interested in seeing more, maybe I'll upload them to Picasa or ...
