God laughed
... but also because of how much more fun it would be if my brother was with me. He enjoys things like that as much as I do.
Exiting the museum, I headed across the street to the ruins on the hill. Up the stairs I went, fully aware of what I would see. Living in Turkey did not leave me without seeing my share of ruins. But this was Greece, it was the Parthenon, it was the home of democracy-a system that I believe does work. I didn’t have a choice to see it ...
Day 14
Today we traveled to Athens by ferry or as I like to call it, we're cruising the Greek Isles. Our ferry was supposed to leave Samos at 9:00 AM arriving in Athens around five in the afternoon. The striking thing about this cave is the way the flow stone has formed into shapes that resemble the gills of a mushroom. Looking upward that is just what it looks like, giant mushrooms. The other unusual forms are on the floor where flow stone walls divide the stream into a series of damned lakes. ...
