... since it was nearing lunchtime closure, I returned at 6.30 later on for shampoo, short cut and blow dry. The stylist asked if we were going out in the evening but she must think us boring as we replied that we would be preparing a meal with a glass or two of wine, listen to music and probably walk down to the beach! Arrived in town at 16:00 when siesta is in full swing so quiet as a mouse. Did a stroll to find out the ATM etc. I'm always fascinated with Mediterranean towns and villages that even with hundreds of acres available they are packed into a tiny space on the hill......surrounding the church. ... and then ascertained it was okay to do a drive by and drop off bags. Not that that was a simple feat. Pictures of typical road widths to come in a later blog. We also arrived early enough to climb to the top of the hill and wander the ruins of the castle. For all you fit people this may seem minor but for some a climb of about 120-130 meters ( direct vertical) is a regular days activity. I am however finding it slowly easier. ... to say the least. Next, we “practiced” by flooding our raft with water. This was terrifying in the heat of the moment, but it was still fun. Next we got out the rafts and went “swimming” through the rapids. We floated along and walked next to it. It ended with us jumping off this rock into deep rapids. It was amazing! Traumatic Times, Christmas Lunch booked, we arrived at 2pm, the restaurant packed full and the drink in full flow... Now because we were one of the last to take Christmas Lunch we were a course or two behind the others so when the music started and the senior guest started to dance it would appear this meant we were still eating our Turkey in the middle ...
