Today we picked up a rental car and headed for the mountains! As with many rentals, we got something bigger than we reserved because that was what they had...it's not too big though, and so far it has treated us well. ... out of a side road in Hammersmith straight into the front of Optimus and into the windscreen. The guy was being chased by police so Andrew and I deserve 'good civilian' medals for stopping him (*nod). Needless to say, we were a little shaken but we knew we needed to get out, grab the drugs and make a quick escape to mainland Europe. Our plan failed, as did Optimus who has recently been declared a write-off. It is fitting that in ...

Breakfast at 6:00 AM. Bus (driver: Ales) left at 8 AM.
A short drive into Slovenia's Julian Alps brought us to the azure jewel of Lake Bled. The lake is of mixed glacial and tectonic origins. It is 2,120 m (6,960 ft) long and 1,380 m (4,530 ft) wide, with a maximum depth of 29.5 m (97 ft). The lake is situated in a picturesque environment, surrounded ...
