    ... making my way through this area, but sadly the lack of Wi-Fi means it goes left unsaid.

    I had a health scare last week. I'd just finished my evening meal when all of a sudden the fingers in my right hand began to curl into the palm of my hand. I thought I was having a stroke as I struggled hard with my other hand to keep them straight. It was only later on in the evening when finishing off my washing that my fears could be allayed.     ... a bit dismal as about half to two thirds of the stalls have gone. It's fair to say that Franci was pretty sad at the changes, he has fond memories of being with his father and the quality of the produce. It also made me realise how fragile the Western relationship with food is if fresh produce markets are struggling to survive in Italy.

    ... as this is a sure sign for someone to load you up again! Being Australian just means everyone is insistent that I try each and every part of a meal so there are bites passed over from everyone else's choices to make sure I don't miss out. There is constant discussion of the places Francesco needs to take me to eat and the dishes I need to try - and by discussion I do mean friendly and fiery debates!

    ... ourselves smell less human, we head out for an apperitivo at a friend's bar. The Bicicletta (prosecco and campari) goes down amazingly well and Francesco gets his first copa of the trip - copa and all the other cured pork products have been haunting his dreams since we booked the tickets. We follow it up with lunch at a local pizzeria and end with caffe and a Cavallo (small glass of Montenegro).
