... br> Parma is a city of just under 200,000 which is famous for its ham's and cheeses. It is also famous for architecture. The city is very pleasant and small enough to walk around, just like Brescia.

We had a walk around the city, a bite to eat and a few beers before returning to the hotel.

... the big lake- they didn't rib me about it much considering!
It absolutely hammered down with rain for hours during the night - thunder and lightening, the full works, so we weren't optimistic for today. As it happened, by the time we had breakfast the rain had stopped and we have had a lovely day. The route took us out to close to the Med, along near the coast for a good ...

... hills above Casette. Tim's Casa is an impressive place and has a marvellous view overlooking the local mountain range. The view always changes and it's great just to sit and watch it. Up at the Casa Tim fires up the Pizza oven and we have a good time catching up and reminiscing about the devious past. As usual Rhid and myself stay up too late playing loud music and generally behaving like the idiots we are. Tomorrow we're off for some fun and frolics by the seaside in Lerici.

Breakfast at the hotel and a visit to the battistero and the cathedral. Found a deli and bought up big - parma ham, parma cheese, balsamic, Lambrusco and olive oil. Lunch out at La Forchetta - just below our room window! Highlight was the Aubergine parmagiana with smoked cheese. Beautiful old town... Now enjoying the local produce at home with a bottle of ...

... at 1700 and checked into our 15th century very authentic Italian villa. Dinner was at ristorante angiol d'or right near the villa. We all ate traditional beef fillet steak rolled with Parma ham and Parmesan cheese! Late night for Sienna - we will get back into a routine soon. Still trying to figure out if I'm in the home of Parma cheese as well as Parma ham... Need to do some more ...
