... stop was after 27km. It was hot and after midday. We gulped down some cold fizzy water, topped up our water bottles and hit the hot tarmac. We had the choice of taking a bike path or the road. It had been suggested to us that the road was very busy and that we take the safer option, the bike path. I took one look at the bike path, it was gravel - no way, so we stayed on the road. There was a bike path along the side of the road in ...

Hello from The Ariston Hotel in Cesenatico in Italy.

Last night accommodation was a steal at €90 with a large room, ocean view and slow WiFi in the room. We got conned by the Tourist Info Centre in Cesentatico with the promise of in-room WiFi and initially the AC. The man at reception has no English. We found out later that it is well known for shopping with ...

... stands. We then came back to Bologna and stayed there overnight. We went out as a group of 7 to find the university night life and then continued to a "discotecho" but laughably found out it was lesbian night. We sat outside and had the bartender make us a drink and he was hilarious as he was an actor. We then got a taxi to take us home but all in all we had a great ...

... fee for the next 3 days, we could already hear the bikes calling us.

We could sit any where we wanted for Friday but had seats in one of the stands for Saturday and Sunday. We wandered around the paddock and checked out all the lined up trailers for the teams - money involved in running a team at this level must be enormous! We even managed to get a quick photo of Aryton Badovini, one of the Superbike riders. The weather has continued to be glorious and ...
