... back to Athens so that we could do some winter jobs on the boat.
The weather here has been very disappointing with rain and wind most days, though it is not cold. We went for a day sail with Keith and Penny aboard Sea Trek and I was the only one brave enough to go for a swim before lunch. It was a lovely day out even if we did have to motor back! Yesterday Penny and I cycled around the lagoon, between showers, and saw a ...

This 'preparation' was a strict diet and meditation routine that slowly left the people in a state of hallucination, and it is believed that the priests at the oracle would use some kind of machine, along with the ample information they had learned about the visitor from their weeks of stay, to create the illusion that the visitor was speaking with the dead ...
Preveza, Greece anp2... at the far end of the waterfront! So of course we headed that way for some air hockey and ride (we were only brave enough to go one one of the 6 there). Though, this ride was about all we needed: it was your standard open-air circular motif with couch-style seating along the edge. You sit, and it spins around. But this one also had the option of lifting up at a 45 degree angle while spinning, bouncing, jiggling, and stopping ...
Preveza, Greece mightbekatrina... for another day's car hire, and went for a trundle eastwards. First stop was Sivota Bay, where Andy recreated the Ionian regatta in what is a very sleepy spot the other 51 weekends of the year. Lunch was in Rouda Bay, where we ate monster fish surrounded by monster hopeful cats and admiring the peaceful waters. We also walked up to a waterfall - at least we hoped it would be after the first rain since May, but it was more of a trickle although the surrounding ...
Vassiliki, Greece heleng2... English sailing terms, so can now say 'Ready About' and 'Lee oh' in fine style. Their native language is Flemish, very similar to Dutch it seems: unfortunately 'lull' is a rude
word in these languages so we now speak of gusts and not-gusts. Also did my first theory talk to Real Paying Customers, and spent a hectic afternoon on the observation tower, frantically counting catamarans and pointing the rescue boat at the ones in the incorrect ...
If anyone is in suspense; we did it!
Andy and I are both now proud holders of the title 'RYA Dinghy Instructor' (or strictly speaking, I will be as soon as I have renewed my first aid certificate on Friday). The course was five long, intensive days - and one of the most absorbing and entertaining things we have ever done. We have also spent two days being rattled to pieces learning to drive a powerboat to some ...
... on the plane out and the two hour time change meant by the end of the first sailing day we were dead on our feet, but matters have improved and we're ready for next week's heavy schedule. Hopefully by the time of the next update we will have our tickets, with powerboat and first aid courses to do to complete the qualfication.our friends in Vassiliki (both holiday staff and locals) haven't forgotten us and we're having a wonderful time. Huge thank yous as ever to all our friends ...
