... We all met up for lunch, which was so bad I'm not going to even mention the place, then Mike and I did the hike up to the Bratislava castle. Amazing views from up there, would be better on a clear day. It was 15 C and though a little cloudy it was lovely. I don't think I'll revisit, one day in the old town was enough, but I'm glad I got the chance to see it.
Found a lot of locals had good English skills.
Local currency is the euro.

We reached the boarder of Austria and Slovakia, it was very strange. The man who issued coach visas to drive into Slovakia had gone fishing – literally!! Chris and Emma came back saying he had left a note on the door and we had to carry on through and stop at first service station where there was a "hut" we could get one from. That turned out to be shut too though! Very relaxed system! Chris decided to chance it and carry on – not much else we could do! ...

As it was late, Rory and I grabbed some food from the supermarket. Rory made a crazy chorizo and sausage spaghetti bolognese. The sausages (which had been chopped up) seemed to have a weird plastic coating on them which only peeled off with heat so it was a very slow meal picking plastic out of our mouths!
