According to my Brazilian colleagues, if you finish your beer in the Campinas restaurants they will immediately bring you another without asking. ... course of filet mignon, Argentine grilled fish, roasted vegetables and a risotto-like rice dish. It was very good, on par with what you would expect from the buffet at an upscale hotel.
After walking back to the room, I was pretty beat and knew that I had to be up by 7am the next day, which would feel like 1am in California, so it was time to shower, get a few work emails out, and hit the hay.
After a really hot and humid and very sunny day, we had a delightful and dramatic storm that cooled things off dramatically.

Sunday morning walk up to the Jardim Orquideas and then back down the along the marginal before lunch in the mercado.
A lot of flowering trees and things... noticed a liguiambar (from the states) in the jardim... also a teeny tiny apple like plant... it seems pretty happy.
A nice Saturday morning walk about Amparo with the obligatory visit to the door at 253 Rua Quintino Bocai˙va, no centro de Amparo where I have been taking pics for years... very clear, very hot... so we decided there was only one solution... ums chope e dois pastel!
